A message from the guest writer – I hope I can manage to keep the reputation and standard of the usual writer. If not I apologise. I am probably going to share thoughts from other people as I continue the blog. The quite today I found in a book I have as I am a Brownie Guider, the book is ‘The Second Anglia Anthology’ and the author is unknown. The quote is about different type of Christians!
A lot of Christians are like wheelbarrows – no good unless pushed.
Some are like kites – if you don’t keep a string on them they will fly away.
Some are like kittens – they are more contented when petted.
Some are like balloons – full of air and ready to blow up.
Some are like footballs – you can’t tell which way they will bounce next.
Some are like trailers – they have to be pulled.
Some are like neon lights – they keep going on and off.
And some are like a good watch – open faced, pure gold, quietly busy and full of good works.
What type of Christian are you?
If you read the Book of acts then you did notice that the emphasis on the Holy Spirit, and distributing money, food to the local poor people was part of the reason the churches next were so popular and growing. While in contrast today many Chruches. pastors, members, adherents, are selfish cheapskates.
Secondly all pastors, elders, ministers should be called specifically for their Ministry directly by God. Most of them today have not been called for the ministry, for they are hirelings.
True pastors, elders, ministers would firstly daily read their Bible for one hour and pray daily for others.
